Grand Cayman Spring Events

Spring in Grand Cayman is a time of celebration, with three quintessential island events taking place. First up is the Cayman Islands National Festival of the Arts, locally known as CayFest. With events throughout the month of March, CayFest shines a light on local creativity. Featuring everything from theater to film and dance, it’s a unique opportunity to explore island culture.

Also in March, make sure to mark your calendar for the annual orchid show at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park. Expect to be enchanted by a stunning display of locally grown and native orchids in full bloom. With numerous plants on sale, you can also walk home with your very own Cayman orchid.

Undoubtedly, the marquee event of not only spring but the entire year is the Batabano Carnival. Taking place in the first week of May, Batabano is the national festival of the Cayman Islands. The streets are filled with music and color as part of the spectacular parades, celebrating Caymanian culture. It also marks another important time on the island — turtle nesting season!
