With its pristine sandy beaches and tropical waters, the Cayman Islands aren’t just paradise for adults. There’s a lot to keep the kids entertained in the Cayman Islands too, whether it’s hiring our snorkeling equipment and heading down the beach to spot the rich diversity of aquatic animals or heading out on a sailboat for an unforgettable day trip to Stingray City.
For this guide, we are going to focus on our base and the biggest of the three Cayman Islands: Grand Cayman. To ensure the whole family has the best time on this idyllic island, let’s dive into the top things to do with kids in Grand Cayman!

Visit the Cayman Turtle Centre
Cayman Turtle Center is located in West Bay in Grand Cayman. It offers a great educational experience where kids can learn about the majestic creatures that inhabit Grand Cayman from turtles to sharks and even the center’s resident crocodile. You’ll be able to participate in bird-feeding, predator reef-feeding, and turtle-feeding events. Kids will also be able to ride the Turtle Twister waterslide too! The Cayman Turtle Centre is open every day of the week from 8 am to 5 pm.

Relax on Grand Cayman’s Seven-Mile Beach
One of the reasons why many people visit Grand Cayman is the pristine beaches, and Seven-Mile Beach is no exception. This picture-perfect beach is regularly voted one of the best beaches in the Caribbean and one of the best beaches for water activities in the world.
Spend your full day here soaking up the sun, building sand castles, and swimming in the shimmering turquoise Caribbean sea teeming with aquatic life. The best way to explore and observe the rich biodiversity is by renting our snorkeling equipment. You can also get our snorkeling equipment on the day from our Rum Point watersports desk or Red Sail Sports at the Westin Hotel on Seven Mile Beach and Tortuga Divers in the East End.
Or opt to go Stand-up Paddleboarding (SUP). A calm and relaxing sport that has become increasingly popular in the last couple of years, especially in the Cayman Islands. SUP is suitable for anyone, which makes it a great activity for the whole family. Rent your own SUP board from Red Sail Sports at Westin Hotel on Seven Mile Beach, Morritt’s Resort in East End, or right at Rum Point Club.
If the kids get bored with a day on the beach, take them to the nearby Seven Miles Beach Park, which has multiple play areas, slides, swings, and climbing frames.
Take a Trip to Cayman Parrot Sanctuary
At Cayman Parrot Sanctuary, your whole family will get to meet and learn about Cayman’s native animal species, including a variety of interesting parrots and snakes, and indigenous plant species. The center also has slides, ziplines, sand pits, and toys to help keep the kids entertained. The Cayman Parrot Sanctuary is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm. It’s closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
A short walk away from the Cayman Parrot Sanctuary is Tukka East End, which also holds a daily bird-feeding event at 5 pm.

Meet Friendly Animals at Grand Cayman’s Stingray City
Stingray City is a must-see while in Grand Cayman. It’s an area that is home to an abundance of southern stingrays. These animals are extremely friendly as they have become accustomed to human interaction and allow you to feed, play, and pet them.
We offer a Stingray City Sail from Rum Point. On this tour, you’ll set sail on a 65ft catamaran and venture across the North Sound to the Stingray City Sandbar. You’ll then have the opportunity to jump in and introduce yourselves to the genial stingrays. This is only one part of the tour and when you’re ready, we’ll move on to the next stop: a nearby coral reef to go snorkeling.
Learn about the History of the Cayman Islands at the National Museum
The Cayman Islands National Museum seeks to educate future generations and celebrate the cultural history of the region. It displays artifacts and delves into maritime history of the Cayman Islands including their most famous shipwreck disaster: the Wreck of the Ten Sails. The museum also covers important but difficult parts of the past, including slavery in the Cayman Islands.
There are some family-friendly interactive exhibitions, including a submarine that will help educate children about the sealife in the Cayman Islands. This small museum is open from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm, and also Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. It’s closed on Sundays.
Red Sail Sport’s Waverunner Snorkel Safari from Seven Mile Beach
The Waveuunner Snorkel Safari from Seven Mile Beach runs from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, offering a fantastic adventure for families with older kids. Children can ride along on a jet ski with you and enjoy light snorkeling in the surrounding area.
This exciting combination of Waverunner riding and snorkeling takes you to some of the best coral reefs, making it a memorable experience for both kids and adults!

Explore Grand Cayman’s Crystal Caves
The Cayman Crystal Caves are located on Grand Cayman’s Northside and are one of the island’s newest tourist attractions. The caves, which have naturally formed over millions of years, are utterly mesmerizing. Fossils found within the caves suggest that the caves were, at one point, under the sea. You can only explore the caves via a 1.5-hour Cayman Crystal Caves Guided tour (tickets must be booked in advance). On this guided tour, you’ll explore the surrounding tropical forest area that is home to a rich array of plant and animal species before venturing into the three unique caves (the Open-Ceiling Cave, the Roots Cave, and the Lake Cave).
