Join a Stingray City Boat Excursion from Rum Point!

One of the most iconic and exhilarating experiences on Grand Cayman is a visit to Stingray City. And the good news is that our sister company, Red Sail Sports, provides boat excursions from Rum Point, including three options for visiting Stingray City.

Hop aboard a catamaran departing from Rum Point Dock and set sail to the crystal-clear waters where friendly southern stingrays await. As you glide across the Caribbean Sea, your knowledgeable guides will share fascinating insights about these graceful creatures, known for their docile nature and gentle interactions with humans, and their natural habitat.

Once you reach Stingray City, prepare to be mesmerized as you wade into the shallow water of the sandbar. Watch in awe as stingrays gracefully glide around you, their velvety wings brushing against your skin. Be sure to bring an action camera or your phone in a waterproof pouch because the photo opportunities are extraordinary!

We love this experience so much that we included it in our list of 10 cool and unusual things to do in the Cayman Islands.

There’s no better place to unwind and indulge in a delicious family meal than at Rum Point Club. You can choose to dine at Solis, where you can savor exquisite dishes infused with Caribbean and Mediterranean flavors. Then there’s The Rum Deck — perched mere inches above the soft white sand and with picturesque views of the North Sound — with its welcoming, laid-back atmosphere and eclectic all-day menu.

From our much-loved conch croquetas to succulent jerk chicken, the menus at Rum Point Club offer something to tantalize every palate. And while the kids devour their favorite dishes from the children’s menu, parents can sip on handcrafted cocktails, including our signature Mudslide, while basking in the warm Caribbean breeze.

If you’re staying in the Seven Mile Beach area, Red Sail Sports’ Rum Point Dinner Ferry makes dining at Solis convenient and unforgettable. It’s not every day you sail across the North Sound for dinner plans!

For families with a sense of adventure, a visit to the Cayman Crystal Caves is an absolute must. Tucked away in the lush tropical forests of Grand Cayman’s North Side, these mesmerizing caves offer a glimpse into the island’s geological history, featuring stalactites, stalagmites, and resident bats!

Guided tours take visitors on a journey through intricate limestone formations, sparkling crystal pools, and mysterious underground chambers, revealing the fascinating natural wonders hidden beneath the surface. It’s an educational and awe-inspiring experience that will leave the whole family captivated.

Please note, you can only enter the caves on a guided tour, and you must book your spot before arriving.

But best of all, Cayman Crystal Caves is less than a 15-minute drive from Rum Point, so it’s easy to pair a trip here with a meal at our idyllic, beachfront restaurant!

Grand Cayman is known around the world for its extraordinary underwater world, so we can’t leave snorkeling off this list! Coming face to face with a thriving ecosystem beneath the waves is a breathtaking experience for young and old alike, and our island offers an array of options for snorkeling enthusiasts of all ages.

Some of our favorite snorkeling spots in Grand Cayman include:

  • Stingray City
  • Starfish Point
  • USS Kittiwake Wreck
  • Coral Gardens
  • Eden Rock
  • Cemetery Beach
  • Spotts Beach

Of course, every child has their own swimming ability level, so some sites won’t be suitable for everyone. When choosing where to snorkel with children, an adult should always test conditions first to make an assessment.
